YOUR GUIDE TO THE ART AND SOUL OF THE CARIBBEAN

Carolyn Caldwell

Caribbean Artist

Carolyn Caldwell - Carolyn has lived on ST.John since 1983. She spent her childhood in England , Japan, California and Montana. An art major in college, she focused on photography and received a b.A. from the University of Montana, then spent 6 more years getting a degree in Architecture in Boston, Mass. She has an architectural practice in Coral Bay. "In my watercolors I strive for a fresh spontaneous look. The fact that the colors like to mix themselves on the paper means that you never have complete control over the medium. It is this that makes painting in watercolors so exciting and yet daunting at the same time. A successful Watercolor can portray a luminosity unlike no other medium, and there is no end of luminous subject matter in the islands."  - Visit the Carolyn's Website at www.carolyncaldwell.com
